Fighting crime and keeping communities safe |
||
|
#TogetherFor Bedfordshire | No two days are the same on the community policing beat and officers are constantly juggling between the responsibilities of fighting crime, keeping the public safe and engaging with and reassuring our communities. This week the @LutonCommunityPolicingTeam were closely involved in the closure of a cannabis farm on Ashcroft Road, seizing 140 plants – a great result which all started with a intelligence-led vehicle stop. Meanwhile their colleagues were on hand at the Marsh Farm Futures fireworks night helping make sure everyone could enjoy a safe and spectacular event. In Bedford experience and local knowledge helped our @bedfordcommunitypolicingteam detain a man who was wanted for failing to appear at court. He was wanted in Great Yarmouth…but also well known to our PCSO. A success too for our @BedsRuralCrimeActionTeam when the owner of a stolen quad bike saw it being advertised for sale in Hereford. Quick collaboration with colleagues in the West Midlands saw quadbike and owner reunited. And just to prove that the @LutonAirportPoliceUnit dogs work hard as well as play hard, here they are alongside firearms officers keeping passengers and airport staff safe. Don’t forget you can report concerns directly to us here: https://www.beds.police.uk/ro/report or call 101.
